Santacruz personnel immediately followed mine rescue protocols, and authorities arrived shortly thereafter at the mine to review the site of the accident.
“Safety is a core value at Santacruz and we will thoroughly investigate this accident and take remedial action,” Carlos Silva, CEO of Santacruz, stated in a news release.
The Rosario mine produced 128,245 ounces of silver in 2020.
