Shares of NanoVibronix Inc. NAOV, +248.14% more than tripled in very volatile and active afternoon trading Friday, after the company pointed out an upbeat report regarding its treatment for urinary tract infections. The stock was up 204% before the latest volatility trading halt, as volume of 58.8 million shares compared with the full-day average of about 204,000 shares. The stock has so far been halted 13 times for volatility, all after 1:20 p.m. Eastern. The company said “The Journal of Medical & Surgical Urology” is publishing an article with “overwhelmingly positive” findings from a study of patients that used its UroShield product in real world settings. “As we would expect, the patient experiences in the study were statistically significant, with all responding patients reporting that our device was simple, easy to use and materially benefitted them,” said NanoVibronix Chief Executive Brian Murphy. The company said the peer-reviewed publication has been submitted to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence. The stock has gained 44.3% over the past 12 months, while the S&P 500 SPX, +1.01% has advanced 36.3%.
