AMD, +3.62% shares closed at a fifth consecutive record high on Tuesday following a report that Nvidia Corp.’s NVDA, +0.33% acquisition of Arm Ltd. may get blocked by U.K. regulators. AMD shares closed up 3.6% at $112.56, for a fifth straight day of 2%-or-more gains and record high closing prices. On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported that the U.K. may block Nvidia’s $40 billion acquisition of U.K.-based Arm from Japan’s SoftBank Group Corp. 9984, -0.73% citing national security reasons. Nvidia shares closed up 0.3% at $198.15.
