This week, Down to Business features Dax DaSilva, founder and chief executive of Lightspeed Commerce, a Montreal-based company that make software to help companies manage their e-commerce and physical sales, as well as inventory.
Since the start of 2020, its market capitalization has grown from roughly $3.5 billion to $17.4 billion, a remarkable growth spurt that’s testament to the digital transformation taking place, particularly in restaurants and the hospitality business where Lightspeed is focused.
Dasilva talked about how the pandemic has accelerated digitization trends, as well as his recent efforts to spur “collective action” around environmental conservation, and his role in a coalition that meets later this month to discuss bold solutions that could lift Canada’s economy.
