Switzerland’s central bank has increased stakes in some of the U.S. stock market’s most volatile names.
The Swiss National Bank more than doubled its stake in movie-theater chain AMC Entertainment (ticker: AMC), bought more shares of videogame retailer GameStop (GME), and drastically increased investments in data-analytics software firms Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and Snowflake (SNOW) in the third quarter. The bank disclosed the stock trades in a form it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
