Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF, -4.23% stock fell 3.9% in Thursday premarket trading after the apparel retailer reported second-quarter sales that missed expectations. Net income totaled $108.5 million, or $1.69 per share, up from $5.5 million, or 9 cents per share, last year. Adjusted EPS of $1.70 blew past the FactSet consensus for 77 cents. Sales totaled $864.9 million up from $698.3 million but below the FactSet consensus for $879.2 million. Digital net sales totaled $376 million, down 3% from last year and representing 44% of total quarterly sales. Abercrombie & Fitch stock has soared 95.5% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.22% has gained 19.7% for the period.
