Shares of AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. AMC, -12.05% sank 7.9% in premarket trading, putting them on track to suffer an eighth-straight decline. The movie theater operator’s stock had tumbled 21.1% over the past seven sessions, which was so far the longest losing streak since the eight-day stretch that ended May 6. The stock has also lost 38.3% amid a five-week losing streak. The stock’s recent weakness is part of a broad selloff in growth and other “meme” stocks, which comes as the one-year anniversary of the start of the “meme stock” phenomenon passed last week. GameStop’s stock slumped 6.2% in Monday’s premarket, after bouncing 3.6% on Friday to snap an eight-day losing streak. But video game retailer GameStop’s stock still fell 8.8% last week, to extend its weekly losing streak to nine weeks, in which the stock plunged 53.5%. Meanwhile, futures ES00, -2.03% for the S&P 500 SPX, -2.02% fell 1.2% ahead of Monday’s open, and the S&P 500 has lost 7.7% amid a 3-week losing streak through Friday.
